FIBER OPTIC NECKLACE
The shimmering droplets of glass suspended from this delicate necklace catch the light like a light spring rain. Each bead of handcrafted glass hangs pendulously from a silver wire, which is threaded through the delicate silver chain. The effect is eye-catching yet subtle, and provides a refreshing accent whether you’re dressed for a formal reception or dinner with friends. Jewelry artist Jess Panza grew up at the rainy foot of the Appalachian Mountains, and soaked in the magic of watching raindrops perpetually race each other down the window pane.
CHANDELIER HUMMINGBIRD FEEDER
Treat yourself to a feast for the eyes and your feathered friends to a feast for the beak with this extraordinary Chandelier hummingbird feeder. Blue recycled glass from Mexico set in black powder-coated steel wire mixes with bright red (a hummingbird’s favorite color) as faceted glass drops to catch the light. Fill the feeder with nectar and become the most popular house on the block.
GLASS SCAPE BOWL
Though he’s very worldly and has an insatiable thirst for adventure, your fish doesn’t get out much. A fella can only do so many laps around the same mermaid before he starts to wonder what else is out there. Give your finned friend a new mountain to climb with this intriguing bowl. Winner of a Red Dot Design Award, this unique piece also serves as a stunning environment for plants, shells, or your favorite terrarium succulents and mosses.
PEACE MORSE CODE BRACELET
Some words of wisdom aren’t just meant to be read. They’re meant to be carried with you, wrapped around your thoughts to be pondered again and again. Jewelry designer Amanda Landesberg helps you to do just that with her inspiring wrap bracelets. She begins with a timeless and inspiring quote from Mother Teresa: “Peace begins with a smile.” Then, using knotted silk cord and semi-precious apatite beads to form visual Morse code, she embeds those words into this extraordinary wrap bracelet. The message will remain with you throughout the day, its meaning clear and present to you and those with whom you share its meaning. The band wraps around the wrist three times, a number symbolizing perfection in many religious traditions, and has a closure that adjusts to fit most wrists. Each bracelet comes with the quote, its Morse code translation, and information about the stones used.
BASEBALL STADIUMS TIE
No matter which team he roots for, this tie is sure to be a hit with the baseball fan in your life. Sketches of demolished ballparks cover this navy silk tie, including Ebbets Field, The Polo Grounds, Connie Mack Stadium, Forbes Field, Crosley Field, and Comiskey Park. Created by New York designer Josh Bach, each design is printed on fine, imported silk and then hand finished.
LOTUS NESTING BOWLS
These blossoming bowls unfurl from the inside, out with graduated pottery that marry versatility and beauty. Ideal as striking serveware, each set nests eight bowls useful for small and large gatherings alike. Designed with a delicate look but a sturdy frame, these bowls are ideal for everyday dining. When not in use, nest pieces together for a sculptural, lotus flower display to enliven your table. Handmade by Whitney Smith in California.
DANDELION PAPERWEIGHT – A Puff of Summer – My Personal Favorite
Admire a fleeting moment of summer any time with this real, hand-picked dandelion seed head preserved in a perfect, crystal clear sphere. This paperweight preserves the puff in clear resin at the moment before its parachute-like seeds fly away on the wind to start the flower’s life cycle over again. The resin sphere displays the seed head’s extraordinary natural architecture from every angle, and the subtle optical distortion of the resin imparts a sense of movement, making this an eye-catching accent for your in-box or mantlepiece. Great for the nature-lover, gardener, or lawn-care enthusiast who wants a trophy of a vanquished foe.
